For as long as I remember, I have turned to tea for calming. Even as a child, my Yiayia would make me χαμομήλι with honey - Chamomile - on a cold day or if I was coming down with something. As a young adult, I started to enjoy super strong minty teas - Peppermint, Spearmint - in tea bags and I would always use at least two. I eventually graduated to loose leaf and instantly fell in love with the sheer variety of blends available and I guess it was then I realised I was well and truly addicted to tea.
Those that know me know when I love something, I go all in. I love buying beautiful teapots and cups and search high and low for blends that are going to cure all the ailments.
And while I am not going to sit here and tell you tea can cure all the ailments - because that would be lying - what I can guarantee is that good quality herbs that perfectly blend together to make tea can definitely work wonders. Hence my obsession and why Pura Tea exists today.
My desire to start my own tea brand derived from my last purchase of a specific brand of (expensive) tea, one that promised to assist with sleep and anxiety. I had been using it for a while - perhaps three or four years - nightly and I realised how much money I was spending per teabag and it was not cheap. Upon closer examination of the ingredients, I realised there were flavours added to the tea and (almost) immediately contacted a tea specialist about the possibility about creating my own tea brand and blends. It was then I decided to create blends that targeted the physical and emotional needs of the body and Pura Tea was born; out of pure (or Pura, shall we say) love for what value tea can bring to one’s life, as a ritual.
